Krista Blanton-Gursky – Midwife, Nurse, Entrepreneur

My educational background culminated with a Doctorate from Columbia University. I am a nurse-midwife by trade and a business entrepreneur by God’s choosing.  As a nurse-midwife, I worked in the hospital and taught at universities. I was excellent at what I did but God wanted me to do something different, something more with Him.

My Father was a serial entrepreneur. He lived and breathed business and the next big deal. His goal was to be a millionaire at 30. He reached his goal only to lose everything trying to reach his next big deal. He rebuilt and went after the next million with his new goal being the billion-dollar deal. This was in the 90’s! My father was a Godly man. He was active in his church and believed that without God he would have followed his father’s path and lived in poverty throughout his life. He believed that God showed him two truths about life and business: the 10-10-10 theory and the truth in the saying, “keep it simple stupid.”

The 10-10-10 theory is that God speaks to us and we follow what He tells us to do; and after we do our part the outcome will be revealed in either 10 days, 10 months or 10 years – patience and trust – the keys to this theory. He also believed that God is a God of order and simplicity.  God will always break things down into simple steps for us, “keep it simple stupid.” My father instilled in me that God is interactive and loving; He desires relationship with us and wants us to be successful here on Earth.

My father passed away unexpectedly January 2014. I inherited all twenty-two (22) of my father’s companies, many of which were on the verge of bankruptcy. All of which, were in some state of debt due to his desire to obtain the billion-dollar deal. Remember, I was a nurse-midwife by trade. I had been working in the business world for about a year when my father passed away. However, what I also inherited was my father’s group of friends, wise counsel. One of those friends, Rita Burgett, took me in as a friend and consistently gave me wise counsel. Rita is not only a successful businesswoman but she is also a woman who knows God and knows how to have fun with God.

I sought God’s direction, I sought wise counsel and I kept it simple. Now, ten years later, I see God’s hand of favor on every decision in those early years. The companies I now own are 100% debt free and profitable. God only needs you to be willing to enter into relationship with Him and follow His direction. He wants us to have fun with Him. I encourage you to read Rita’s book and learn how to be in God’s inner circle of friends and learn how to truly have fun and win with God!
